Greetings,
I am Cierra Jackson; I am a product of Florida A&M University's (FAMU) prominent School of Journalism and Graphic Communication. As a native of Tallahassee, Florida, it has always been my desire to attend an influential institution like FAMU. Currently, I am pursing a degree in Public Relations with a concentration in photography; with hopes of one day owning my own Integrated Marketing Firm.
During the 2010 B Session of Summer School, I will be taking Public Relations (PR) Methods. The course will be taught by Porfesor Gina Kinchlow, professor of the School of Journalism. During the six weeks cousre each student will be expected to create their own media kit that will be used to promote the event his or her firm has been hired to put on. The media kits will consist of professional-quality new release, a feature story, a fact sheet, a media advisories, speeches, brochures, TV and radio public service announcement scripts and other items that may be needed.
PR Methods is designed to help PR students gain and understanding how to effectively write for the various forms of media in the industry. Each student will be given an opportunity to creatively put together a special event for his or her company’s clients. Having an interest in owning, running and promoting my own high-scale club/lounge has inspired me to create PREssence.
PREssence is a new PR Firm in the Tallahassee community. The firm has chosen to host events at a new venue for young professional and business owners in the Tallahassee community. PREssence will be hosting a launch party entitled "LAUNCH at Epic. "LAUNCH at Epic will put a new twist on an established nightspot in Tallahassee, in the near future.
A sneak peak of “Elegance” will be presented on the night of the launch party. Epic Lounge is an innovative way and opportunity for those who would like to experience a change of scenery in Tallahassee.
